Gainey Scores High With Wine Critic

Gainey Scores High With Wine Critic

Gainey Vineyard has long been on many of the wine critics’ radars and we recently had our Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs reviewed by esteemed wine critic Antonio Galloni of Vinous.com.

“Gainey makes as many as twenty different wines in each vintage, many of them sold directly at the winery. Once again, I was quite impressed with what I tasted,” Galloni said.

Both of the following wines are sold only to Wine Club members and at the Tasting Room.

93 Points

Gainey Vineyard Limited Selection Chardonnay

Galloni Tasting Notes:

The 2014 Chardonay Limited Selection from Gainey’s Evan Ranch is rich, voluptuous and tropical. Candied lemon, flowers, butter, and a host of tropical notes meld together in a rich, textbook expression of Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay. Drink it over the next few years.

93 Points

Gainey Vineyard Limited Selection Pinot Noir

Galloni Tasting Notes:

Black cherry, plum, smoke, cloves, rose petals, lavender, and menthol meld into the 2014 Pinot Noir Limited Selection. Rich, ample, and dark, the 2014 shows the more voluptuous, flamboyant side of the Santa Rita Hills.
